Tree Lighting Ceremony

Dear Families,

As our world slowly but surely returns to our “new” normal, we have come to recognize the importance of tradition. The Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Services is committed to continuing our annual Memorial Service and Tree Lighting in honor of all those we have served over the years. 

We are pleased to announce we will be offering our service this year in person, as well as livestreaming. This will ensure everyone has the option to attend the service as you feel comfortable. Whether you can attend in person or from the comfort of your own home, we will be able to remember together those special people in our lives who are no longer with us.

Please note: The service will be livestreamed on Monday, December 5th , 2022 ONLY.

The service will be recorded Monday evening and will be available for viewing the following day on our website, where it will remain viewable for the year following. 

As has been our tradition, we ask that you bring to the funeral home, a personalized, small, non-breakable ornament (we will not be liable if the ornament breaks and will replace it with an ornament of our choosing) for your loved one to be placed upon the trees. The trees will be lit with the ornaments adorned on them, as a gentle reminder of those who have touched us in a special way. It is in these memories that we will find warmth, comfort, and a sense of hope during these trying times.  We store all ornaments for years to come to honor and remember them.
