Susan O'Connor

Susan Patricia Valentine O'Connor, 75 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Pierre Boucher Hospital in Quebec, Canada. Born Wednesday, February 21, 1951 in Dublin, Ireland, Susan was the daughter of the late Laurence and Miriam Hooper. Susan was raised in Dublin where she graduated from the Pembroke School and then the Dublin Dental University Hospital where she earned a diploma in Dental Hygiene. Susan would meet and marry the love of her life, Brian O'Connor. They would start a family of their own, having two sons, Killian and Shane. After moving to the United States Susan and Brian lived in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Susan continued her eduction at Brookdale College, pursuing a diploma in paralegal studies and worked for 20 years as a legal secretary with Lampf, Lipkind, Pleva, Prupis & Petigrow in West Orange, New Jersey. Susan was always very active. She was a 7 year participant in the Alzheimer's New Jersey walk to help fight Alzheimer's, which she took part in in honor of her sister Deirdre. She enjoyed following and supporting the Leinster and Ireland Rugby teams. Susan and Brian traveled extensively to Europe and the Caribbean, and loved taking in shows on Broadway and at the theatre. More than anything Susan loved the time spent with her family and she will be deeply missed by all those blessed to have her in their lives. Susan was predeceased by her parents Laurence and Miriam, and by her siblings, Richard and Peter Hooper, Deirdre Leader, and Jennifer Walsh. Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Brian, by her loving sons, Killian O'Connor and his wife Marie Villeneuve, and Shane O'Connor and his fiance Marissa Sottilaro and her daughter Aubrey, and by her cherished grandchildren, Miriam, Greyson, David, Fiona, and Alice, and by her siblings, Darrell Hooper, and Jacqueline Howard. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
