Robert "Bobby" John Graff January 31, 1957 - August 15, 2026 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bobby" John Graff on August 15, 2026, at the age of 69. Bobby was born on January 31, 1957, in Williamsburg, New York, and spent his early life in South Ozone Park and Howard Beach alongside his loving parents, Robert M. Graff and Jean Graff (née Gallo), and his siblings, Marianne Graff -Torrento and Richard M. Graff. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became an elevator mechanic and a proud member of Local 1, a career that reflected the hardworking, capable, and dependable man he was throughout his life. Bobby married the love of his life, Beatriz Zamorano, and together they moved to New Jersey, where they built a beautiful life and raised their beloved son, Christopher Robert Graff. Bobby was also a father to his daughter, Sereena Marie Graff. His family was at the center of his world, who Bobby loved deeply and wholeheartedly. Bobby was truly a once-in-a-lifetime person. He was funny, full of life, and the most loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He had an extraordinary ability to light up a room and bring a smile to the face of everyone in it. He gave generously and was fiercely loyal to the people he called his own. To know Bobby was to know that you had someone in your corner. Bobby was a man of tremendous courage and strength, qualities that were evident throughout his life. On September 11, 2001, while working at the Marriott World Trade Center, he worked tirelessly alongside firefighters to help guide people to safety. His actions that day were a testament to the man Bobby was brave, selfless, and always willing to help others in their time of need. Bobby knew how to enjoy life. He loved music and could often be found singing doo-wop with his best friend, Anthony Greico, preferably with a chilled glass of Gavi or martini nearby. He loved vintage cars and reminiscing about the music, stories, and beauty of decades gone by. He had a deep appreciation for the things that brought him joy, and an even greater gift for sharing that joy with the people around him. Above all, Bobby loved his family and friends, and he was loved just as fiercely in return. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Beatriz; his son, Christopher and his fiancée, Shannon Sansone; his best pal Moose; his daughter Sereena; his sister Marianne, and her husband John Torrento; and the many members of his extended family and cherished friends who became like family and held a special place in his heart. He will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law Amparo Zamorano-Castillo; his brother-in-law Jairo Eduardo Castillo; and his niece and nephew, Andrea Castillo and Alejandro Castillo. He will also be deeply missed by his extended family in Colombia, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts and cherish the love and connection they shared. Bobby's life cannot be measured simply by the years he lived, but by the people he loved, the laughter he created, the loyalty he gave, and the countless lives he made brighter because he was part of them. He was brave and strong, but also joyful, sentimental, and deeply loving. His stories, his songs, his laughter, and his unmistakable presence will remain with those who loved him forever.
