Margaret "Peggy" Janks

Margaret Janks (better known as Peggy by her loved ones), 69 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away after a long courageous 2 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born Saturday, October 16, 1954 in Staten Island, New York, Peggy was one of four daughters of the late, John and Edith Corley. Peggy was raised in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island, and was a graduate of Port Richmond High School. It was on the street she grew up on, Goodwin Ave, that she would meet the love of her life, Robert Janks. The couple would marry and start a family of their own in that same neighborhood. In 1985, Robert and Peggy moved out of NY and settled in Old Bridge. It is here where Peggy spent most of her time as Mom. Raising her 4 kids was her full-time job, but when time allowed, she worked as a secretary for years in Real Estate. Later on, when her kids were all grown, she worked in Workers Comp Insurance. Through most of her children's childhood, Peggy could be found most nights at the Old Bridge Little League. Peggy enjoyed her LBI Beach vacation with her entire family. She loved just sitting on the beach and soaking in the sun, while all her kids and grandchildren ran in and out of the waves. She never missed an opportunity to go out to dinner with her sister/sister-in-laws. She cherished her nights playing Bunko with all her closest friends. For as long as anyone can remember, she always ensured all the family was always together, she always had a BBQ for Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day, making sure no ONE was left out. Whether helping a family member or friend in need, she had a love for helping anyone, she epitomized the phrase, "She would give you the shirt off of her back". Peggy also loved a quick getaway to Atlantic City and a trip over the Hudson to enjoy a Broadway Show. Peggy loved being surrounded by her family the most, and spending as much time with the grandkids as she could. Peggy was a loving and caring woman who will be deeply missed by all those that love her. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, John and Edith Corley, by her brother Daniel and sister in law, Patrice Corley. Peggy is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert, by her loving children, Charles, Kathrine Cusick and her husband Steve, Steven and his wife Amanda, and Robert and his wife Donna, by her caring siblings, Douglas Corley and his wife Fran, Catherine Petta, Maureen Larsen and her husband John, Edie Bousanti and her husband Nick, and by her cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Mackenzie, Ryan, Steven, Abigail, Aubrey, and Connor. Would be remiss not to mention her godchild, MaryKate Romanowski and her husband Rob, kids Leo and Lucia. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, NJ A funeral mass will take place at 9:30 AM on Friday, December 29, 2023, at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 333 NJ18, Old Bridge, NJ.
