Madeline Colasanti, 76, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. Born on October 4, 1949, in New York City, New York, Madeline was one of three children born to Orazio and Frances Leonardi. She was raised in the East Bronx in a close-knit and loving family. Those early years shaped the warm, devoted, and family-oriented woman she would become. Madeline graduated from Christopher Columbus High School, where she formed lasting friendships and memories. In her young adult years, she met the love of her life, John. Their love story blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and together they married and eventually relocated to Old Bridge, New Jersey, where they built a beautiful home and raised their children. Madeline dedicated her professional life to working in childcare, a role that perfectly reflected her nurturing heart. She truly loved working with children and found great happiness in helping them grow, learn, and feel cared for. Her kindness, patience, and natural warmth made her a beloved presence in the lives of many families. When she decided to no longer work in childcare, she changed roles working alongside her husband as General Manager at Liquid Assets. Above all else, Madeline treasured her family. She adored her grandchildren, who were the light of her life and her greatest pride. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and her endless love. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to her, and she took great joy in cooking delicious meals for those she loved. Loving, kind, and sweet, she had a gentle way about her that made everyone feel welcome and cared for. Madeline will be greatly missed by all those lucky enough to have known her. Madeline is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years John, Sr., by her loving children John, Jr., Phillip and his wife Kursten, Nicole Gulinazzo and her husband Raymond, and Jennifer O'Reilly and her husband Steven, by her cherished grandchildren Giavanna, Raymond, Valentina, Vincent, Santino, Ava, and Jack, and by her caring siblings Grace Anobile and her husband Anthony and Frederick Leonardi and his wife Virginia. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funeral and Cremation Services located at 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church located at 333 NJ-18, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
