Luis Ayala

Luis Ayala, 80 of Jackson, New Jersey passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Centra State Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Born Sunday, March 31, 1946 in Garrachales, Puerto Rico, Luis was the son of the late Luis and Zoraida Ayala. Luis started his life in Puerto Rico and moved with his family to the Bronx when he was 5 years old. The family would return to Puerto Rico until Luis was 17, when he moved back to the Bronx. There he would meet the love of his life, Olga Mojica (Honey aka Princess). Luis and Olga dated for two years before marrying. They would live in the Bronx and start their family there before settling in Old Bridge in 1986. Luis worked in Local 3 as an electrician. He was always handy around the house and took great pride in his accomplishments. Luis also loved fixing cars. He was a craftsman who had a detailed knowledge about classic cars. Luis enjoyed taking his 1956 Super 88 Oldsmobile to many of the different car shows in the area. Luis always had a joke or a funny story. If you called for advice or help he was always there. Luis was an amazing son to his parents and them became an awesome uncle but his favorite titles were husband, father and Ampa. Luis was an Ampa/father figure to 4 of his grandchildren as well. He was a very strong figure for his family and a strong man. Whenever you walked into the house if he was not watching TV (cowboy shows, movies or comedy shows) he was listening to music. He made CD's and gave them to family and friends. More than anything Luis loved being surrounded by his family and he will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have him in their lives. Luis was predeceased by his loving parents, Luis and Zoraida, and by his caring sisters, Sonia and Nin. Luis is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Olga, by his loving children, Irma, Debra, and Luis, by his cherished grandchildren, Cody, Gaiea, Mia, Hadyn, Sebastian, and London, and by his adored great grandchildren, Tatum and Sofia. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, and 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
