Kathleen Donnelly

Kathleen Donnelly, 75 of Old Bridge, New Jersey died on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.. Born Saturday, November 1, 1941 in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late August and Nora Schmidt. Kathy grew up in Queens and graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in Ozone Park. Kathy went onto work for United Airlines at the old Idlewild Airport where she was an Air Freight Saleswoman, she would meet the love of her life there. Kathy and Charlie would soon after marry and move to Old Bridge, NJ, where they would live for the next 53 years. Kathy would go onto to work for the Social Security Administration in the East Brunswick office. She was a, member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Senior group, as well as a member of the Women of Irish Heritage Jersey Shore Chapter. A proud moment came in 2002 when Kathy was the Deputy Grand Marshall of the Belmar St. Patrick's Day Parade. In her spare time Kathy enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She was a very proud Mom and Nana and took on the the role of official family paparazzi, camera always in hand. Kathy always had a beautiful smile on her face, she was patient, kind and always a great friend to all. She will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed to have known her. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years Charlie, her loving children Noreen Barnes and husband Dennis, Patrick Donnelly and wife Michelle, Eileen Biennas and husband Michael, and Brian Donnelly and wife Tracy, her cherished grandchildren Alexandra, Dennis, Jackie, Caitlin, Zach, Patrick, Maddy, Bridget, Gabe, Colm, and Brendan, and her caring siblings, Sr. Patricia Schmidt D.W., Rev. Raymond F. Schmidt, and Kenneth Schmidt. Kathy was predeceased by her brother Donald Schmidt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:15 AM on Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, at the Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
