Hazel Ruriani

Hazel Favale Ruriani, 83 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born Monday, March 15, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, Hazel was the daughter of the late Norma and Prospero Favale. Hazel would grow up in Brooklyn, where she would graduate from Lafayette High School. Soon after, she would meet the love of her life Rocco Ruriani, the couple would marry and start a family. Hazel and Rocco raised their three children in Brooklyn. After losing her husband in 2003, she began living on her own for the first time. She had many friends and enjoyed that next chapter of her life. She would then move to Old Bridge to be closer to her family. Hazel enjoyed spending her time going to church, a woman of Catholic faith, Hazel would often pray for those she loved and was a devoted member of her church group. She loved going out and having a good time with her friends. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and traveling with family whenever she had the chance. Hazel was a force of energy, she would light up any room she was in with her spirit and contagious smile. Above all, Hazel cherished her beautiful family because to her they were the most important. She was a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren; they brought her so much joy. Hazel was a loving and caring woman who will be missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Hazel was predeceased by her parents, and by her husband Rocco Ruriani. Hazel is survived by her loving children, Christine R. Aisenberg, Rocky Ruriani, and Michael Ruriani. And by her adored grandchildren, Jared Aisenberg, Joann Ruriani, Aidan Aisenberg, Olivia Ruriani and Abby Ruriani. Also by her much loved son in law, Ian Aisenberg, and her daughter in law's Annmarie Ruriani and Jodi Ruriani. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Favale and Mary Mariano. A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
