Gloria Joan Mineo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Gloria Mineo, on September 6, 2024, surrounded by her family. At the incredible age of 100 and a half, Gloria experienced a century full of transformation and world events. Born on March 11, 1924, in Queens, NY, to a first-generation Italian family, she was one of five children. She met her husband, Sebastian, when they both worked at Macy's after WWII, and together they built a beautiful life with their two children, Robert and Karen. After 44 wonderful years of marriage in Massapequa Park, Long Island, and the passing of Sebastian, Gloria moved to the Meadow Lakes community in New Jersey to live closer to her daughter. She also cherished frequent visits to Colorado to spend time with her son and his family. Glorias radiant smile and compassionate heart made her a friend to all who knew her. She lived independently in Meadow Lakes for 21 years, staying active as a dedicated volunteer and avid gardener, lovingly tending to both her personal garden and the community greenhouse. Whether playing croquet, bridge with friends, or participating in water aerobics and exercise classes, she embraced life with a contagious energy and joy. Gloria's thoughtfulness, generosity, and zest for life left an indelible mark on those around her. She is survived by her son Robert, daughter-in-law Janet, daughter Karen, grandchildren Matthew (Lindsey), Jessica, Corey, Zachary, great-grandchild Morris, and sister Helen, along with countless nieces, nephews, and friends. We will forever cherish our happy memories of Gloria and her radiant spirit, which will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to have known her. A Celebration of Gloria's Life Luncheon will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at the Meadow Lakes Community, 300 Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ 08520. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests any donations be made to the Meadow Lakes Educational Awards Fund, 300 Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ 08520.
