Carmela Condo

Carmela Condo, 94 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with her daughters by her side. Born Friday, February 19, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York, Carmela was one of 7 children born to Pasquale and Louise Iannone. Carmela was born and raised in Brooklyn. Having lost her own mother at a young age, she and her five other sisters would help raise their younger brother. To help support the family, she worked in various factories, sewing garments, and wrapping smoking pipes. Later she would meet the love of her life, Anthony, through mutual friends at a New Year's Eve party. The couple married and raised two beautiful daughters. Carmela was predeceased by her sisters, brother, and their spouses. She became the matriarch of her family and was adored and loved by her many nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to all, and she was treated with love and respect. She spent her life dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and to her family. Carmela was a loving woman and forgiveness was her greatest attribute. She will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have had her in their lives. Carmela was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, who passed away in 1999. Carmela is survived by her loving children, Marion Condo, and Carolyn Condo Strazzulla and her husband Michael, and by her cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Gianna, and Antonio. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday at St Ambrose Church located at 83 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
