Sylvia Lopez, 81 of Matawan, New Jersey passed on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. Born Sunday, June 11, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Antonino and Josephine D'Amico. Sylvia was raised in Brooklyn, and was a graduate of Sara J. High School. Sylvia would raise her own children in Brooklyn. she worked as a Hair Dresser at Creative Hair in Park Slope. It was in her later years Sylvia would relocate to Matawan, NJ to be closer to family. Sylvia liked to play cards and spend time in Atlantic City. She enjoyed dancing. Sylvia loved being surrounded by family, especially family dinners. She was a loving woman who will be missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Sylvia is survived by her beloved companion of 36 years Frank Mongelli, by her loving children, Linda Sachatelli, and Robert, Michael, David, and Donald Lopez, by her cherished grandchildren, Stephen, Anthony, Amanda, Lisa, Vincent, Annie, Samantha, Joseph Jr., and Michael Jr., by her adored great grandchildren, Briella, AJ, and Isabella, and by her caring siblings, Rose Festa, and Anna Fortunato. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Antonino and Josephine D'Amico, and by her brother, John D'Amico. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
