Salvatore Villa, 68 of Freehold, New Jersey died on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospice in Trenton. Born Sunday, January 30, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York., he was the son of the late Samuel and Carmela Villa. Salvatore was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Freehold in 1995. Salvatore was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country honorably. After his service he would go on to become a Steam Fitter and worked in Local 638 Steam Fitters Union. While in Brooklyn Salvatore was a member of Council 1073 of the Brooklyn Knights of Columbus. Salvatore was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. In his spare time Salvatore enjoyed reading, playing chess, walking and riding his bike, he enjoyed going to the beach and the local parks. He was a skilled carpenter and also a licensed HAM radio operator. Salvatore is survived by his loving daughters Lauren Grassotti and her husband Peter, and Nicole Silverman and her husband David, by his cherished grandchildren Anjelica Villa, Salvatore Villa, James Doxski, Matthew Grassotti, and Christopher Grassotti, and by his former wife and friend Bernice Villa. A Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM on Wednesday at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
