Richard Lipke Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard Scott Lipke, 61 of New Jersey died on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Center For Hope Hospice. Born Monday, October 10, 1960 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Richard was the son of the late Richard Frances Lipke and Katherina Cramer. Richie as he was known, was a graduate of Piscataway High School, class of 1978. While at High School Richie played on the school's and the Football team and was a member of the school band, playing the drums. After High School Richie joined the United States Army, eventually earning his honorable discharge. Richie moved to the West Coast in 1982. He would live in Truckee, CA, Lake Tahoe, and Reno, NV, before returning home to New Jersey in 2018. Throughout his life Richie worked in the Masonry trade, managing masonry jobs. He was also part of the road crew for the rock band Malice, and other bands as well. Richie was a member of the Silver Lancers Drum and Bugle Corp, spending some time in Seattle he was a member of a Christian Rock Band. Faith played a strong part in Richie's life. He was an Altar server at his childhood church, St. Joseph in North Plainfield. He would often read the bible, and had a favorite prayer he would pray it every night. Richie was a big sports fan, especially college basketball, and loved cheering on the Villanova Wildcats, even before his niece Chrissy started attending the school. Like his father before him, Richie was a big fan of the NY Giants. In his spare time Richie enjoyed listening to music, watching Shark Tank, and reading books, especially by his favorite author James Patterson. A very bright man, Richie loved watching Jeopardy and the World News he also enjoyed playing his favorite games, Spades, and Monopoly. Artistically talented, Richie enjoyed writing songs, poems, and inspirational messages, including art work to his family and friends. He had a heart of gold, and would help anyone with anything. He will be deeply missed by all of the family and friends that loved him so much. Richie was predeceased by his loving daughter Cynthia, his parents Richard, and Katherina, and his step-mother Perna. Richie is survived by his children, Marshall and Anthony Lipke by his sister, Debbie Polakiewicz and her husband David, and by his two nieces Holly and Christine. He is also survived by his step siblings, Brian Baldwin and his wife Cathleen and Jacqueline Sullivan. A Service with Commital Prayer and Military Honors will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday at Brig General Wm C Doyle Veteran's Cemetery located at 350 Province Line Rd Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562.
