Lorraine Dolores Erwin, 81, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed by all. Lorraine was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Hubert William Erwin and Anne Marie Connelly Erwin, where she grew up with her siblings, Patricia, Hubert (Billy), Phillip, Virginia, and Dorothy Anne. After graduating from school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Lorraine became a beautician and operated her own beauty salon in Brooklyn, before beginning her career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Upon retiring and moving to Old Bridge, Lorraine worked in the Activities Department of the Reformed Church Home for several years, where she thoroughly loved working with the residents. Throughout all of her careers, she has met so many people and shared a special bond and friendship with them all. Lorraine was a woman of strong faith and conviction. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Manalapan, N.J., where she was a member of the Rosary Makers Group. She also loved being a member of the prayer groups and the Marian Movement of Priests. Her favorite pastime was making rosaries for members of several prayer groups, family, and friends. As a devout Catholic, Lorraine's most memorable trip was her pilgrimage to the Philippines where she visited several religious sites. She also enjoyed her many trips to Our Lady Queen of Peace Houses of Prayer in New York and Minnesota. Lorraine had a passion for her country and its history, and took great pride in her heritage as a descendent of the Mayflower. She was also a proud member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), Francis Hopkinson Chapter, in Freehold, N.J. Lorraine was truly a loving and caring person who loved her family and friends dearly. She has left all who knew and loved her with a lifetime of happy memories. She is the loving sister of: Patricia Jedlowski and her late husband, Richard, of Morganville, N.J.; the late Hubert (Billy) Erwin and his late wife, Phyllis, of Highland, N.Y.; Phillip Erwin and his wife, Felicia, of East Branch, N.Y.; Virginia Anderson and her late husband, Russell, of Marlboro, N.J.; and Dorothy Anne Drummer and her husband, Albert, of Apple Valley, Minnesota. Lorraine is also survived by many nieces and nephews, of whom she was so proud, and was the loving aunt of the late Anne Marie Erwin. She is also survived by so many cousins, whom she loved and cherished dearly. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
