Loving wife, mother, and grandmother Joyce Esther (nee Taboh) Altschuler of Monroe Twp., NJ 75 formerly from Brooklyn, NY passed away peacefully surrounded with her loving family at her side on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at Old Bridge Raritan Bay Hospital in Old Bridge, NJ. Joyce was born on May 30, 1946, in Brooklyn NY where at ten years old she met Les Altschuler who was to become the love of her life. Married on February 2, 1969 they were blessed with two wonderful children Keith and Lori sadly Keith passed away on September 26, 2020. They were married for 53 wonderful years. For most of Joyce’s working career she was a bookkeeper and a burglar alarm installer in their own family company. She was an Associate member of the Unites States Submarine Veterans (USSV) NJ North Base and a past National 1st Vice President for the “SubVettes” the USSV ladies auxiliary. Joyce had a passion for knitting and donated the blankets that she made to hospitals for seniors and children. Joyce was predeceased by son Keith, mother Mollie Taboh and Grandmother June Cohen. She is survived by husband Les, daughter Lori LaFlower her husband Eddie and their children Matthew, Jake, and Caitlin in addition to cousin’s nieces and nephews. Please join the family in celebrating Joyce’s beautiful life on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Services, located at 3377 US Highway 9 (North) in Old Bridge, NJ (732)679-4422. (Subvet attire is appropriate) Internment with a Graveside service will take place on Sunday April 10th at 11:00 am (those wishing to go from the funeral home please be there at 9:30am ) at Beth Israel Cemetery located at 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers if you so desire donations may be made in the Memory of Joyce to the United States Submarine Veterans Charitable Foundation at www usscf.org. or the charity of your choice.
