John Monaco

February 2, 1935 - November 24, 2017

John Monaco, 82, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Born Saturday, February 2, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anthony and Caroline Monaco, John was one of four siblings. John spent most of his working years as a driver for National Carting, a private sanitation company in Brooklyn, New York. John was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 55 years, Edith, who passed away in 2012. They were long time residents of Brooklyn, NY and spent the last 14 years residing in Monroe Township, NJ. John is survived by two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Rose and John and his wife, Christine, six grandsons and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Menechino and many loving nieces and nephews. John loved spending time with his family and being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a true Patriot and very proud of his Country. He will be greatly missed by his family. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. Funeral services Tuesday, November 28, 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.HegartyScaliaFuneralHome.com
