John Lehane Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John ( Jack) Lehane, 86 of Freehold, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey. Born Saturday, September 21, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late John Lehane and the late Catherine Vossey. Jack lived in the Eltingville section of Staten Island, then he relocated to Covered Bridge in Old Bridge, and then to Manalapan and then Freehold. Jack had a long and fulfilling career with the FDNY, where he spent 32 years as a Firefighter and then as a Fire Marshall. Jack was a man of simple tastes, he enjoyed playing golf with his friends, watching black and white westerns on television, but what gave him the most joy was spending time with his family, his wife, their 4 daughters, and his 11 grandchildren. making people smile was something Jack took great pride in. He was never without a joke, and if he made you laugh then he was happy. He was pre deceased by his loving wife Marie who died in May of 2009 and his only brother Joseph who passed away in 1985. He is survived by his four daughters; Elizabeth Zeppilli and her husband Stefan, Susan Bassista and her husband Michael, Christine Calvert and Diana Shein and her husband Leonard. His grandchildren Danilo, Nico, Gianna, Amy, Caitlin, Casey, Shaun, Jamie, Michael, Joseph and Carly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Thomas More Church located at 186 Gordons Corner Road Manalapan, New Jersey 07726. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
