Irene Sobolewski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Irene Sobolewski, 86 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Spring Hills of Matawan.. Born Monday, August 5, 1935 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Irene was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ida Cisiwicz. Irene was raised in Jersey City, and was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School. She would meet the love of her life, Chester Sobolewski and the couple would marry. Starting their family in Jersey City, they would move to Old Bridge in 1969, where they would raise their children. Irene enjoyed spending her time reading, and completing puzzle books. She was a big fan of the NY Yankees. Irene enjoyed her many walks throughout the neighborhood and didn't hesitate to put a smile on her neighbors faces with a joke or two. She loved animals and supported different shelters in the area. Irene loved being surrounded by her family the most, especially her grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband, Chester, who passed away in 2000. Irene is survived by her loving children, John Sobolewski and his wife Colleen, and Irene Werner and her husband Mike, and by her cherished grandchildren, Evan, Sean, Stephen, and Ryan. The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at St. Ambrose Church located at 81 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ.
