Gloria Valderrama

September 3, 1945 - February 20, 2022

Gloria M. Valderrama-Leon, 76 of Morganville, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, . Born Monday, September 3, 1945, in San Martin Meta, Colombia, Gloria is the daughter of Maria Catalina Hernandez, and the late Anselmo Leon Pineda. Gloria was raised in Colombia. She grew up loving the arts and always had a deep passion for performing. She always loved to dance and enjoyed her Colombian music. In 1967, she would immigrate to the United States. She first lived in the Bronx, where she would start her family. Later she settled in Brooklyn, New York raising her two children, Steven and Tiffany, and would remain there for the next 50 years, before recently moving to New Jersey to be closer to her family. Gloria worked for many years as a clerk with the United States Postal Service. She worked at the Morgan Post Office on the corner of 29 St and 9th Ave in Manhattan. Gloria loved her job, and would volunteer her time working Operation Santa Claus. She received recognition from the United States General Post Master for her great volunteerism and hard-work. Along with volunteering for that cause, Gloria also volunteered often times feeding the homeless. Gloria loved the Lord and loved being a part of her Christian community, she would fellowship and praise the Lord at New Hope Church, the International Christian Center on Staten Island, Monmouth Worship Center, or Calvary Chapel in Old Bridge. Gloria was a loving and caring woman, who always loved others over herself. She will be missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Gloria is survived by her loving children, Steven Valderrama and his wife Claudia, and Tiffany Valderrama LoBosco and her husband Raymond, by her loving mother Maria Catalina Hernandez, by her caring siblings, Fabiola Leon, Esperanza Leon, and Luis Leon, by her cherished grandchildren, Gabriella, Giada, and Marco, and by her loving step children, Alejandro Valderrama and Marcella Valderrama. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
