Frederick A Morina

July 6, 1935 - January 24, 2020

Frederick A Morina, 84 of Jackson, New Jersey passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey. Born Saturday, July 6, 1935 in Staten Island, New York., he was the son of the late Fred and Frances Morina. Fred was raised on Staten Island, and would graduate from Curtis High School. He would serve his country Honorably in the United States Army. Fred attended Fordham University in the Bronx. During this time, he would meet the love of his life, Theresa Ginda., and the couple would begin their courtship. After graduating with his Bachelor's degree he would become a Certified Public Accountant. Fred and Theresa would marry and start their family. He was self employed operating his office on Staten Island, Frederick A. Morina CPA, at the corner of Clove Road and Victory Blvd. Fred was an active member of the Staten Island BPO Elks Lodge 841, and was a Past Exalted Ruler. He would continue as an active member after retiring to Myrtle Beach South Carolina, where he was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 1771. Fred was also a member of the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing. Just one year ago, Fred and Theresa would move to Jackson, NJ to be closer to family. He was a gracious and caring man, one who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all those that loved him. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Frances Morina and by his sister Joan Morina. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Theresa, by his loving children, Fred Morina, Jr. and his wife, Diane, and Diane Dematteis and her husband Arthur, by his cherished grandchildren, Eric Morina, and Stephanie Morina. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. At 2:30 PM a Catholic prayer service will take place. In lieu of the flowers the family requests that donations in Fred's memory are made to the American Cancer Society.
