Everett Scott

April 22, 1927 - April 18, 2022

Everett Scott, 94 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge. Born Friday, April 22, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, Everett was the son of the late Walter and Ann Scott. Everett was raised in Brooklyn. Everett felt a strong desire to serve his country during World War II. Being only 17 at the time, Everett needed his mother's permission to join the Navy. He would serve his country on the USS Guam during World War II. He would earn his honorable discharge and return to Brooklyn. Returning to his childhood home he would meet the love of his life, Helen. Eventually they would marry and have a family of their own, raising four children. Everett worked for many years for the Brooklyn Union Gas Company. While living in Brooklyn Everett was a member of the American Legion. He was a big fan of the NY Mets and NY Jets. Everett would enjoy spending time at Monmouth Racetrack and trips to Atlantic City. He was a caring man who will be missed by all those that were blessed to know him. Everett was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years Helen, by his loving children, Everett W. Jr., and Judith Murphy, as well as Judith's husband William, and by his caring siblings, Helen Enright and Walter Scott. Everett is survived by his loving children Linda Savarese and her husband Lou and Kenneth Scott and Suzanne, by his caring sister Joan Murphy, by his cherished grandchildren, Laura LaPorta (Anthony), Kimberly Coe (Chris), Jeffrey Murphy (Leslie), Kerry Savarese, Jessica Teofrio (Vincent), Lisa Arroyo (Jon), and by his cherished great grandchildren, Daniel, Kaylee, Victoria, and soon to be born Baby Boy Teofrio and many grand-dogs. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday at Most Holy Redeemer Church located at 133 Amboy Road Matawan, New Jersey 07747. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.HegartyScaliaFuneralHome.com
