Dawn Elise Herrmann

June 24, 1965 - May 14, 2018

Dawn Elise Herrmann, 52 of Morganville, New Jersey passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018, at her home. Born Thursday, June 24, 1965 in Manhattan, New York, Dawn was the daughter of Dorothy Kimmerer and the late Richard W. Kimmerer. Though born in Manhattan, Dawn was brought to Staten Island at a young age, and that is where she was raised. Dawn attended Staten Island Academy, and then would go on to graduate from the Curtis High School Nursing program. While in High School Dawn sang in the chorus, performed in the school dance ensemble and was a cheerleader. Dawn would go on to attend the St. Vincent's School of Nursing and would graduate with her degree in Nursing. She worked as a nurse at the former Richmond Memorial Hospital and Clove Lakes Nursing Home, both on Staten Island. At the time of her passing she was a Nurse Auditor. Dawn would raise her own family on Staten Island, before moving to Morganville in 1995. She was an active mother, and always loved being around her family. Dawn loved animals, especially her dog Dakota. She would enjoy spending time at the beach and celebrating all of the holidays. Dawn enjoyed cooking big meals and was an excellent baker. She was selfless and caring, she always put others before herself. Dawn will be missed by all those that loved her. Dawn was predeceased by her father Richard Kimmerer and her brother Dana Kimmerer. Dawn is survived by her beloved children, Mark Andrew and his wife Stephanie, her daughter Justine Elise and her fiance Matt Presser, and her sons Christopher Michael, and Nicholas Ryan. She is also survived by her loving mother, Dorothy Kimmerer, her cherished grandson, Mason James, and by her ex-husband Mark Herrmann. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Freehold Animal Hospital or the Old Bridge Animal Shelter or The Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Dawn's memory. A Memorial Service will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
