Concetta Maugeri

Concetta Maugeri, 90 of Hazlet, New Jersey died on Monday, July 4, 2016, at Regency Park Nursing Home in where she has been a well loved resident. Born Friday, June 4, 1926 in Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Palma Mazzarino. In 1945 Concetta married Gregory Maugeri, she would go on to spend the next 47 years raising their family with him, until his passing in 1992. During that time they lived in different communities, Brooklyn, Long Island, and eventually settling in Old Bridge. Concetta was a seamstress working in New York City's garment district. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and sewing, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, all of whom will miss her immensely. Concetta is survived by her loving children Mario Maugeri and wife Lucy, Salvatore Maugeri and wife Ann, Joanne Huntsman and husband Robert, and Pamela Marrano and husband Peter. Cherished Grandchildren Joseph Dobias, Dina Maugeri, Debbie Long, James Dobias, Alyson Maugeri, Kimberley Maugeri, and Cassidy Maugeri. Beloved Great Grandchildren Dominic and Tyler Renner, Braden Dobias, Gregory and Bryce Long, and Cailee and James Dobias. Caring Sisters Josephine Asquini, and Nina Todaro. A Funeral service will be at 10:15 AM on Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church located at One St. Thomas Plaza Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick, NJ. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
