Anna V. Cecere, 80 of Morganville, New Jersey passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Monday, March 24, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey, Anna was the daughter of the late Vincent and Grace Grassia. Anna was raised in Newark, and would graduate from West Side High School. She would meet the love of her life, Anthony Cecere, and the couple would marry. They lived in Maplewood, and started their family there. Eventually settling in Old Bridge in 1966, their family would grow in size, and they would remain there to raise their children. Anna and Anthony would move to Morganville in recent years. Anna worked for many years at St. John Vianney High School in the school's cafeteria. She was a devout catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Ambrose Parish, where she was a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. In her spare time Anna enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, cheering on St. John Vianney Girls Basketball team, going shopping, watching the Yankees with her husband, and spending time reading. What Anna loved the most was her family, and being surrounded by them. She was a loving and caring woman who will be missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Anna was predeceased by her parents Vincent and Grace Grassia, by her daughter Maria, and by her brothers Joseph and Phillip. Anna is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Anthony, by her loving children, Lisa Lally and her husband Frank, Christine Albert and her husband Jon, Stephanie Flammia and her husband Theo, Jennifer Acquaviva and her husband Michael, and Anthony V. Cecere and his wife Heather, by her cherished grandchildren, Francis Lally, Jillian McCarthy, Maria Cowan, Jon Albert, Daniel Acquaviva, Jamie Albert, Dylan Acquaviva, Luca Flammia, Marcello Flammia, Hailey Marie Cecere, and Anthony Michael Cecere, and by her cherished great grandson Luke Cowan. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday at St Ambrose Church located at 83 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
