Angela Conte

Angela Conte, 100 of Old Bridge, New Jersey died on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at The Atrium of Matawan. Born Wednesday, November 15, 1916 in San Fili, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Concetta Fato. Angela spent her childhood in Italy, she would immigrate to the United States in the 1930's. Upon arriving in the USA Angela settled down with her husband Frank in New Rochelle, NY. In New Rochelle Angela and her family would start a garment company selling dresses. A small dress shop would turn to a company eventually employing 100 people and producing 2,500 dresses per week. In 2002 after 63 years of marriage Frank passed away and Angela relocated to Old Bridge to live with her son Dino. In her spare time Angela enjoyed cooking, and she prayed the rosary. More than anything Angela enjoyed spending time with her family. Angela is survived by her beloved sons Dino Conte and his wife Rosalie, and Richard Conte and his wife Alice, by her loving grandchildren Frank Conte, Joann DiBella, Angela Verrios, Betty Hustler, and Emily Christiansen, by her 7 adoring great-grandchildren, and by her loving sister in law Emily Grenata. Angela was predeceased by her cherished grandson Ricky Conte. A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.Entombment will take place at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
