Andrew Gigante, 78, of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center. Andrew was born in Molfetta, Italy to the late Lazzaro and Francesca Gigante. He would immigrate to the United States at the age of 10. The family would live in Hoboken. Eventually moving to Bayonne, NJ he would meet and marry the love of his life, Joanne Mulewski. The couple would start their own family and move to Old Bridge where they resided for the past 49 years. Andrew was a self employed plumber, he owned Andrew Gigante Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of the Sicilian Citizens Club in Bayonne, and a lifetime member of the Cheesequake First Aid Squad. In his spare time he loved being out on the water fishing. He was a regular on the Sea Fox in Atlantic Highlands and also Paramount in Brielle. Andrew also enjoyed spending time in his home garden. He was a loving man who will be missed by all those that were blessed to have him in their lives. Andrew was predeceased by his siblings, Vincenza Petruzzella, Rose DeGennaro, Peter Gigante, and Corrado Gigante. Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joanne, by his loving children, Andrew and wife Amanda, Carol Michalowski and husband Matthew, and Lorraine Jacobs and husband Adam, by his cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Ethan, Leah, Matthew, and Kristen, and by his caring siblings, Cosmo Gigante and wife Marie, and Martha Piccininni. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at Most Holy Redeemer Church located at 133 Amboy Road Matawan, New Jersey 07747. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
