Zenek Ginsiorsky

Zenek Ginsiorsky, 66 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at home. Born Saturday, October 1, 1955 in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna Ginsiorsky. Zenek, better known as Zeke was raised in Wilmington. After graduating from High School, he earned a scholarship to play basketball at Wagner College on Staten Island. After obtaining his Bachelor's Degree from Wagner College, Zeke worked as a math teacher at St. Joseph by the Sea High School. In 1979 while attending the wedding of a friend, he would meet the love of his life, Lucy Buono. The couple would marry in 1981, living first on Staten Island, then moving to Old Bridge to raise their children. Zeke would eventually start work in the Insurance field, and was an insurance broker at the Abby Grant Agency in Lakewood. Always active and interested in sports, Zeke worked as a high school and pop warner football referee in Middlesex County. He was a longtime fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Zeke always enjoyed entertaining family and friends at his home. He could be found engaging in a good crossword puzzle or playing crazy eights, a card game he enjoyed teaching his grandchildren. Zeke loved spending time at the beach and going crabbing. Most of all Zeke loved being surrounded by his family, and he will be missed by all those that were blessed to have him in their lives. Zeke was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Anna, and by his son Michael who passed away in 2019. Zeke is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Lucy, by his loving daughters, Lauren Hobson and her husband Rob, and Lynn Polito and her husband Dan, by his caring brothers, Orest, and Milton and his wife Gina, and by his cherished grandchildren, R.J., Faith, Chase, Austin, Anna, and Luke. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday at 10:00 AM, at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Matawan, NJ. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. In lieu of flowers the Ginsiorsky family requests that donations in Zeke's memory are made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. When coming to the services it is requested that you wear a mask. We ask that you are mindful of those who can not be vaccinated, when paying your respects, and social distancing should be followed.
