Yolanda (Rosario) Ruiz

Yolanda (Rosario) Ruiz, 83 of Freehold, New Jersey went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey. Born Thursday, March 28, 1940 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Yolanda was the daughter of the late Candido and Modesta Rosario and step-daughter of the late Nicolasa Rosario. At the age of 21, Yolanda would move to Perth Amboy, get married and start a family of her own. She worked for over 40 years, graduated and received her licensing from cosmetology school, then finally retiring from her last position as an assembler at G&W Laboratories in South Plainfield. Eventually Yolanda would settle in Freehold to be closer to her daughter and family. A woman of strong Christian faith, Yolanda was a member of the Living Springs Fellowship church in Freehold. She could often be found reading and studying her Bible which she cherished dearly, always worshipping and singing hymns to the Lord Jesus. Her hobbies which she enjoyed included spending a tremendous amount of time in her garden, building puzzles and playing all sorts of games. She was an outstanding cook, always making family and church meals; a loving and caring woman who will be deeply missed by all those blessed to have had her in their lives. Yolanda was pre deceased by her beloved son Tony, and by her caring sisters, Edith Santiago and Damary Bosques. Yolanda is survived by her loving daughter Margarita Longo and her husband Charles, by her caring siblings, Adelaide Casillas, Mario Rosario, Aurea Hernandez, Aurelia 'Lilly' Ayala, and Hilda Cardona, and her cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Rebecca, Zachary, Joshua, and Dylan, and by her adored great grandchildren, Michael, Jamison, Marshall, and Ezekiel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens located at Route 1 & Gill Lane Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095.
