William Cepero

William Cepero, 70 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Thursday April 16, 2026, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. Born on Monday, September 12, 1955, in the Bronx, New York, William was the son of the late Ernesto and Ruth Cepero. Raised in the South Bronx, William spent many of his summers in Puerto Rico with his family. He graduated from Aviation High School and then attended LaGuardia College. Willie loved playing paddleball and would meet the love of his life playing one day at the courts in the Village. After a few failed attempts, Betty finally agreed, and they began a beautiful courtship. They married and lived in Queens before settling in Old Bridge 32 years ago. Willie worked in Operations and Record Management at the Bank of New York. Willie's favorite pastime was playing paddleball and in his youth, he was ranked as one of the best players in New York City. His generosity and willingness to teach others the sport he loved was something to be inspired by. He was a fierce competitor, even as he got older, but he always held his ground on the courts. He also enjoyed playing handball, ping pong, and pickleball, especially with Betty. He was often seen walking his dog Koko around his neighborhood, always a friendly face and a good conversation. Willie was a big fan of New York Sports, especially his favorite teams: the Knicks, Jets, and Yankees. He enjoyed watching the WWE and Lucha Libre wrestling matches. Willie was also a huge fan of horror, sci-fi, and Western movies. More than anything, he loved being surrounded by his family and will be deeply missed by all those who love him. His goofiness and quick wit will be hard pressed to find, as he was always able to answer with a humorous comeback. He was always a good talker, and conversation was never something he lacked. Willie was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty, whom he missed everyday. Their love was something he talked about daily, and their bond forever eternal. Willie is survived by his loving children, Christopher Cepero and Christina Cepero, his caring brother, Edgard and his wife Carmen; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
