Vicky H. Rodriguez, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday June 1, 2026, surrounded by those she loved most. Born on Wednesday September 21, 1949, in Santiago, Chile, Vicky lived a life defined by hard work, compassion, and an extraordinary commitment to caring for others. As a young woman, Vicky met the man who would become her husband, Victor Hugo, while living in Ecuador. Together they built a life, eventually immigrating to New York and welcomed their two beloved daughters, Karen and Monica. She later returned to Ecuador, where Vicky continued to devote herself to those she loved most. Vicky returned to the United States to be close to her growing family. Though she made her home here, she remained deeply connected to Ecuador and frequently traveled back to care for her mother, a reflection of the selfless and nurturing spirit that defined her entire life. Vicky was an exceptional woman in every sense of the word. A natural caregiver, she dedicated herself to helping others, often placing the needs of family, friends, and even strangers before her own. She worked tirelessly throughout her life, at times holding multiple jobs and working overnight shifts to ensure that those she loved were provided for and cared for. She was a provider, a protector, and a source of strength for everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Strong-willed, independent, and determined, Vicky faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience. While she could be stubborn at times, it was that same tenacity that enabled her to overcome obstacles and create opportunities for her family. Her warmth, generosity, and forgiving nature made her home a welcoming place, and she never hesitated to open her door to someone in need. She believed in second chances, offered kindness freely, and carried herself with grace and dignity. Despite life's changes, Vicky maintained a close and enduring bond with the father of her daughters, whose friendship, support, and companionship remained constant throughout the years. Their shared love for their family endured, and he remained by her side until the very end. Above all else, Vicky adored her grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with them, caring for them, and creating cherished memories together. Whether babysitting, attending family gatherings, or simply sharing a laugh, she treasured every moment and embraced her role as grandmother with boundless love. Vicky's beautiful smile, welcoming heart, and selfless spirit touched countless lives. She made extraordinary sacrifices for her family, asked for little in return, and gave endlessly of herself. Her strength, kindness, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. Vicky was predeceased by her parents Jorge (1999) and Amada (2022) Henriques, and by her sister Amada (2022). Vicky is survived by her beloved daughters Karen Gaitan and her husband Levi. and Monica Fortunato and her husband Michael, by her loving grandchildren Julio Montesdeoca, Vanessa Montesdeoca, Nicholas Montesdeoca, Ariella Fortunato, and Eliana Fortunato, by her cherished great grandchildren Adrian Rodriguez and Analia Nunes, by her caring siblings Cristy Henriques, Patricia Plaza, Jorge Pibe Henriques, and Jorge Escobar. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals located at 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
