Theresa DiMeo

Theresa DiMeo, 99 of Manalapan, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born Tuesday, October 28, 1924 in Manhattan, New York, Theresa was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosaria Lampo. Theresa was raised in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, and it was in that neighborhood she would meet the love of her life, Casimo DiMeo. After a courtship the couple would marry, and start a family of their own, raising their children in Brooklyn. Theresa and Casimo would eventually settle on Staten Island. There Theresa worked as the manager of the Homelines Department, at the JC Penney store, in the Plaza on Forest Avenue. In 2000 Theresa and Casimo moved into Covered Bridge in Manalapan, to be closer to family. Theresa enjoyed living in Covered Bridge where she was a member of the Christian Neighbors Club, and played shuffleboard with friends. Theresa also enjoyed her many trips to Atlantic City, and was an excellent seamstress who could work magic with a needle. Theresa and Casimo would enjoy spending the winters at their home in Flroida. Theresa loved being with her family more than anything. She was the caring mother and grandmother that always was there whenever you needed her. She will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband Casimo, by her brothers, Pasquale and Angelo Lampo, and by her son in law Francis. Theresa is survived by her beloved daughters, Linda DiGiorgio and her husband Carmine, Roseanne Damiano and her husband Salvatore, and Diane Savotok, by her cherished grandchildren, Theresa Sgroi and her husband Salvatore, Joseph Damiano and his wife Kimberly, Dominick DiGiorgio, Julianne Kirby and her husband Larry, Salvatore Damiano and his wife Nicole, Maria DiGiorgio, Melissa Dunn and her husband Tommy, Carmine Digiorgio, and Francesca Enriquez and her husband Christian, and by her adored great grandchildren, Giancarlo, Gabriella, Victoria, Anthony, Thomas, Michael, Salvatore, Liana, Giada, Alexa, Christian, Andrew, Anthony, and Christian. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Thomas More Church located at 186 Gordons Corner Road Manalapan, New Jersey 07726.
