Thelma Prince

Thelma 'Faye' Prince, 84 of Parlin, New Jersey died on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Monday, February 22, 1932 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late John and Verda Cain. Faye attended the Crawford Long School of Nursing. Faye moved to New Jersey in 1953, living in Laurence Harbor, and in 1965 Faye and her husband William would move to Parlin. After 45 years of marriage William passed away in 1998. Faye was a registered nurse and worked at the Perth Amboy Hospital from 1953 to 1967 and then at the Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield from 1967 until her retirement in 1988. Faye will be remembered as a caring woman, always offering to help and give to others, always available to anyone in need. She would volunteer driving her friends to different events and appointments. Faye was active in the Sayrewoods Bible Church Senior Club where she was an active and loved member of the congregation. Faye loved to travel and made many trips to various destinations, she loved listening to music, and at 66 started working with a computer and never looked back, even making her own genealogy webpage. More than any thing Faye loved her family, and she will be missed by all those who knew her. Faye is survived by her loving children Jeff Prince and his wife Anita, and Carolyn Lambert and her husband John, by her cherished grandchildren, Christine, Matt, Michael, Joe, Jens, and Joshua, by her adoring great grandson, Cooper, and by many caring cousins, nieces, and nephews.. A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at Sayrewoods Bible Church, located at 2290 US 9, Old Bridge NJ 08857. Interment will be in Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Tennent, NJ 07763. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2017, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
