Michelle Micari

Michelle Micari, 69 of Matawan, New Jersey passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. Born Saturday, April 23, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, Michelle was the daughter of the late Frank and Alicia Palagonia. Michelle was raised in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, and was a graduate of Fontbonne Hall Academy. Michelle lived in Brooklyn for most of her life. At a young age Michelle met Robert Micari, and though they were friends, life would lead them in different directions. Michelle went on to work as a make up artist and fragrance supervisor with Clinique and Sears. She would have a daughter, Alexandria, and raise her in Brooklyn. Eventually Michelle and Robert would reunite and marry. They would continue to live in Brooklyn, until 2016 when they settled in Aberdeen. Michelle had a life changing cancer diagnosis. She would continue to fight for years, and was a strong advocate for others that were battling cancer. Michelle was an active member of the MBC Thrivers support group. Michelle was a great conversationalist, who always loved talking with people either in person or on the phone. She enjoyed shopping, and traveling, and enjoyed all the finer things life had to offer. Michelle was a loving and caring woman who will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Michelle was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert, by her loving parents Frank and Alicia Palagonia, and by her caring sister Donna Van Green. Michelle is survived by her beloved daughter, Alexandria Maestrallis, and her husband Michael, by her cherished grandchildren, Olivia and Nico, by her caring sister Anita Orbeta, and by her cancer sisters, Fontbonne Hall Academy sisters, and many friends. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at St Benedict Church located at 165 Bethany Rd Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport, NJ For those unable to attend the visitation services a livestream will be held between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
