Margaret Roll

Margaret Roll, 94 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge.. Born Thursday, April 14, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, Margaret was the daughter of the late Patrick and Delia Shannon. Margaret was raised in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. She would go on to graduate from Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School. She would meet the love of her life, John J. Roll, and the couple would marry. They lived in the same community where Margaret grew up, and that is where they would raise their own children. Margaret worked for many years as a school security officer for the New York City Board of Education. Margaret was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Ft. Hamilton Officers Club, and also the Teamsters. She was a huge NY Yankees fan, and enjoyed watching the games. Throughout the years, Margaret enjoyed entertaining at her home on Sedgwick Place and summers with her family at her country home. It was at those parties she would often be found dancing to her favorite music, and also singing along to the songs. She was a beautiful and loving woman who will be missed by all those that loved her. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, John, and also by her loving daughter Eileen Marcello. Margaret is survived by her loving children, Susan Fraser and husband Bruce, and John Roll and wife Mary Jane, by her cherished grandchildren,Melissa Blondel and husband Kevin, Deidre Smoudianis and husband George, Meghan Marcello and fiance Craig, Christopher Fraser and wife Frances, Sean Fraser, Katelyn Roll, Andrew Roll, and Bryan Roll, and by her cherished great grandchildren, Thomas and Mackenzie Blondel, Isabella and PJ Smoudianis, and Madilyn Weaver and Cade Calleros. A visitation will be held on Thursday between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the Michael Hegarty and John Vincent Scalia Home for Funeral and Cremation Service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday at Saint Ambrose located at 83 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
