Margaret Guiro

Margaret 'Maggie' Guiro, 75 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. Born Thursday, April 13, 1944 in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Dora Carfora. Margaret was raised in Jersey City, and would graduate from Ferris High School Class of 1962. After High School Margaret went on to Jersey City State Teacher's College, graduating with a Bachelors degree in 1966. Margaret would meet the love of her life, Joseph Guiro, and the couple would marry. They would eventually move to Old Bridge, where they would raise their two sons, Christian, and Matthew. Margaret was very active in the lives of her children, she was a member of the PTA, the Old Bridge Rec. Club, and a Little League mother, and an Old Bridge Soccer Mom. Margaret spent her professional career teaching in Old Bridge. She taught at both, Schirra Elementary and McDivitt Elementary schools. She was a loving and caring woman who will be missed by all those that loved her. Margaret was pre deceased by her parents, Mario and Dora Carfora, and by her brother Richard Carfora and his wife Lorraine. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph, by her loving sons, Christian and his wife Robin, and Matthew and his wife Amanda, by her cherished grandchildren, Dominick, Isabel, Sadie, Nicholas, and Sofia, by her caring brother Marty Carfora and his wife Joe Ann, by her caring sister in law Victoria Forleo and her husband Steven, by many loving nieces and nephews, and by The Girls, Katy, Sue, Ro, Pat, Irene, Dee, Rachael, and Bobbie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday at St. Ambrose Church located at 81 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
