Mae Caputo-Hunt

Mae Caputo-Hunt, 91 of Matawan, New Jersey passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. Born Friday, February 7, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, she was one of five children born to the late Peter and Josephine Ciancimino. Mae was raised in Brooklyn, NY, after marrying her husband, John Caputo, they would start their own family in Brooklyn, before settling in Old Bridge in 1959. Mae was a member of the ladies Auxiliary of the Madison Park First Aid Squad, where her husband John was a founding member. Mae worked part time at the Acme Supermarket in the former Sayrewoods Shopping Center, now Gateway Shopping Center. After Mae's husband John passed away, she would meet and marry John Hunt. Mae was extremely artistic, especially making embroidered pictures. She enjoyed playing piano and was an excellent cook. She loved baking, everyone always looked forward to her Christmas Cookies around the holidays. Mae enjoyed traveling and spending time writing in her many journals, often writing about her family, who she loved so much. She was a generous and kind woman, with a great sense of humor, and she will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Mae was predeceased by her husband John Caputo, by her husband John Hunt, by her daughter Joan Caputo Michalak, by her son John Caputo, and by her siblings, Anthony Ciancimino, Violet Ciancimino, and Florence Petitto. Mae is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Caputo, daughter-in-law Teal Bowman, sister-in-law Antoinette Caputo, by her cherished grandchildren, Albert Concepcion and wife Nicole, Susanne Medina and husband Frank, and Thomas Blust, also by her caring sister Irene Peters and Arlene Aleskas, and by her adored great grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicholas, Dante, and Anthony, and by her many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 6:30pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service.
