Louis Cardella

Louis Cardella, 84, of Manalapan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 28, 2026. Born on December 18, 1941, in Brooklyn, Louis was the beloved son of Louis and Emilia Cardella. He was raised in Brooklyn, where he built the strong foundation of faith, family, and hard work that would guide him throughout his life. Louis attended Eli Whitney Technical High School and, upon graduation, proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force. He honorably served his country for four years during the Vietnam War, working on computers and aircrafts. In 1967, he was honorably discharged, carrying with him the discipline and dedication that defined his character. Following his military service, Louis went on to build a successful career in technology, becoming a General Manager in the tech department at ITT and Microsoft. His leadership, work ethic, and knowledge earned him great respect throughout his career. During this time, Louis met the love of his life, Adele. They were married on September 14, 1968, beginning a beautiful love story that would span 57 devoted years. They began their life together in Brooklyn before moving to Staten Island, where they spent 11 years starting their family. Eventually, they settled in Manalapan, where they spent the next 44 years building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Louis was an avid fisherman from the age of 10, when he first learned to fish and discovered what would become his lifelong passion. If he wasn't working, he was fishing. You could often find him out on his boat, leaving from a Brooklyn marina, casting his line with a smile on his face. A true handyman, Louis could fix or build anything. From repairing cars to building decks, even crafting a fishing pole by hand, there was nothing he couldn't do. He was a man of remarkable skill and quiet generosity, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Louis and Adele were devoted Catholics whose faith remained central in their lives. Above all else, Louis was a family man. He loved life deeply and made sure that everyone around him felt cared for and protected. His greatest joy was his family, and he took immense pride in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Louis was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Emilia Cardella, and by his sister, Marie Imparato. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Adele; his two adored daughters, Christine Cardella-Lena and her husband Anthony Lena, and Jeannine and her husband Robert Gaeta; and his treasured grandchildren, George Louis Trinidad, Dominick Christian Trinidad, and ToniAnn Gaeta. Louis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals & Cremation Services Inc., 111 Main Street, Matawan, New Jersey.
