John Pereira Jr., 29 of Old Bridge passed away Saturday August 3rd, 2024 John was born in Perth Amboy, and grew up in Old Bridge, New Jersey. John graduated from East Brunswick Vocational High School in 2013. He would then go on to start his career which he loved passionately as a construction laborer in the union 472 for the past 11 years. He enjoyed his job, and all the friendships he made throughout his career. John was widely adventurous, he found great joy in going off-roading and hiking any chance he had. He was an avid video game player and Pokemon lover. He had a tremendous passion for motorcycles, cars and trucks. When he worked on cars, especially his jeep, he would proudly remember how his Dad taught him everything he knew, which only furthered his love for automobiles. John was known for his warm, outgoing personality, and infectious smile. John had a special talent for stealing the spotlight in any room he walked into. He always had a kind word or helpful gesture for those around him. He had a heart of gold, always putting others before him, and helping people any way he could. John was a friend to everyone he met. His simple gesture of saying hello brightened many people's days and left a lasting impression. John was a prankster and would prank anyone, whenever he had the chance for a good laugh. He loved animals having two cherished dogs of his own. He cherished his grandparents deeply, and his trips to Portugal. John had a great love for everyone, he always wanted to be surrounded by love, good friends and family. He will be missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him. John was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joao Assis P. D'Asilva and Maria Arcelina De Jesus Correia John is survived by his loving parents, Joao and Claudia Pereira, his adored sister Briana Pereira, his treasured brother David Pereira. By his cherished girlfriend Merissa Scarabino, by his maternal grandparents Aderito Fresco and Franceliano Gandarinho, his Godfather Dario Fresco and Godmother Lidia Ferreira, and his Uncle Anibal Fresco. Also by his precious dogs Ghost and Akira. A Funeral service will be at 9:30 AM on Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle located at 1 St Thomas Plaza Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
