James Joseph Morris

James Joseph Morris, 63 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, July 25, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was the oldest son of James Patrick Morris and the late Patricia (Farmar) Morris. He was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ. Jim graduated from St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City. After high school, he furthered his education at Fordham University before starting his career as a Steamfitter. Jim was a proud member of Steamfitters Local 475, and he truly loved his work. Jim married the love of his life, Jane (McKenna) Morris, and the two settled in Aberdeen, NJ where they raised their three wonderful children James, Erin, and Michael. Jim was an active member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh in Old Bridge, and he also remained an active member of his home Knights of Columbus Council 3197 in Hillside. In his spare time Jim was an avid reader. Recently, he found peace spending time gardening. More than anything, he loved being with his family and friends. Jim was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have him in their lives. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Patricia, and by his brother, Kevin. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Jane; by his dear children, James, Erin & her husband Justin Drapkin, Michael & his girlfriend Natalia Trojacki; by his loving father, James; his caring siblings, Mary Kay Morris, Teresa Caro, Christopher Morris; sister-in-law Lisa Morris; and by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, located at 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at St Clements Church located at 172 Freneau Ave Matawan, New Jersey 07747.
