James F. King

James F. King, 86 of Manalapan, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Care One at Holmdel. Born Friday, April 29, 1938 in New York, New York, James was the son of the late Henry and Agnes King. James was raised in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan, and attended Cardinal Hayes High School. It was in that neighborhood James would meet the love of his life, Lucille 'Penny' Simeti. Meeting in grammar school, a friendship would become a lifelong love that would lead to generations of loving families. James and Penny would start that family in Rockaway, Queens, before settling in Emerson, New Jersey. James was a self-employed executive recruiter specializing in the foreign exchange industry in New York City. James became an active part of his community while living in Emerson. He was a founder of the Emerson Boys and Girls Club, Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, President of the Emerson Little League, and Athletic Director and Baseball Coach at Assumption School. When James and Penny moved to Toms River, James continued to be active in his Catholic church. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and an avid fundraiser at St. Bonaventure Church in Lavallette, NJ. In his down time, James was an avid moviegoer and was a big fan of the New York Yankees. But more than anything, he loved being with his family. He was a loving and caring man who will be missed by all those that were blessed to have him in their lives. James was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Agnes, by his siblings, Agnes, Letitia, Henry, and Kathleen, and by his daughter Anne. James is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Penny, by his loving children, Donna Zales and her husband Mark, Jim King and his wife Debbie, Christopher King, Deborah Gallo and her husband David, Mari Balamaci and her husband Nicholas, and Luanne Eisenberg and her husband Howard, by his cherished 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Brigid King, and by many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Monday at St Ambrose Church located at 83 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. In lieu of flowers, our family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sharing Network Foundation which supports the work of NJ Sharing Network, the non-profit organization responsible for the recovery and placement of donated organs and tissue for the nearly 4,000 New Jersey residents currently awaiting transplantation.
