James Boyle

James (Jim) Boyle, 58, of Old Bridge, NJ passed away on Saturday June 3, 2023 surrounded by the love of his friends and family. Jim was born on Thursday July 16, 1964 in Jersey City, NJ. He was the son of the late Charles and Lucille Boyle. As a young child, Jim spent the first few years of his life living in Bayonne, before his family would later settle in Old Bridge. Jim graduated from Madison Central High School's class of 1983. It was there that he met the love of his life, Paula Gazzio. On May 20, 1988 Jim and Paula sanctified their union of love through marriage. They went on to raise a beautiful family of their own in Old Bridge. Jim was a member of the Local 1 elevator's union where he worked for many years until he retired in May 2022. Jim was a devout Catholic and a man of strong faith. He belonged to St. Ambrose Parish, where he was a member of several groups within the church. He would spread the word of God to all that he connected with, and brought many people closer to the love of Jesus. Jim was a member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh in Old Bridge. He had a deep love of music, and collected many records and cds. He also played the drums in his free time. He loved going to the beach, especially early in the morning as the sun would come up. He visited the Blue Army Shrine in Washington, NJ weekly, where he would spend his time lifting up his own intentions and the intentions of others to the Lord. Jim loved being with his family the most. He was an incredible, fun loving and interactive grandfather, whom his grandchildren absolutely adored. He was a beloved father and husband, who always strived to provide for his family. He will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have had him in their lives. Jim had a way of making everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the room. He was an incredibly generous man, who would give his time to anyone who was in need. He had an astonishingly strong and unique presence that could never be replaced. His passing is a powerful reminder of the preciousness of time in this short journey we all share in life together. Jim was predeceased by his sons, Sean and Benjamin, and by his parents, Charles and Lucille. Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Paula, by his loving children, Shannon Wirksi and her husband Dion, and Kerri Boyle and her fiancé Cory Frink, by his cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Maddie, and Ryan, by his caring siblings, Charles, Kathleen Kohlhepp and her husband Milton, Shawna Zuhl and her husband Glenn, by his caring mother in law, Gaetana Gazzio, and by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday at St. Ambrose Church located at 81 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
