George L. Surdi, II George L. Surdi, II of Edison NJ was taken from this life too soon, in his sleep and he was found Sunday morning, June 19the. He was born March 2, 1971. He grew up in Old Bridge, NJ. He loved his family & friends, laughing, HUGE cups of coffee that were very light and very sweet (like him), and any chance to celebrate a holiday with loved ones. He is remembered to have said many times that his greatest gift and most awesome accomplishment was that he got to be the grateful father of 3 spectacular kids: Tiffany, Jennifer, and George III. He loved music, was a karaoke star with an amazing voice which was inherited from his father. He was an avid lifelong Yankees fan, and everywhere he went people knew him to be full of life and love and a wicked sense of humor, and will now remember him as he always was.....full of big belly laughter, stubbornly stuck on not playing or living by the rules, seeing the best in others, making people smile, raising hell, giving awesome hugs, being and living loud and large, gathering to him anyone who needed an ear or shoulder to lean on, doing things his way, and being a true and loyal friend. He is leaving behind so many people that feel an enormous pain at his early departure: his mother and best friend, Maureen Lonergan-Ware and his step-father Harry Ware of Old Bridge, and his father, George Surdi, Sr. and step-mother Helen Surdi of Port Reading, his three beloved children, Tiffany, Jennifer and George, III, and their mother who was his lifelong friend and ex-wife, Patricia Nicholl of Pennsylvania, his younger sister, Tara Nicholls of Old Bridge, his step sisters Helen Smith and Anna Marin-Harrington, both of New Jersey, his step-brother Robert Marin of Tennessee, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, and literally thousands of friends. His memory will be honored on Thursday June 23rd at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service at 3377 US Highway 9 (northbound side) in Old Bridge, NJ from 4pm-8pm.
