Evelyn Malone

Evelyn Malone, 95 of Freehold, New Jersey passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold. Born Thursday, July 28, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, Evelyn was the youngest of 11 children born to the late Joseph and Angelina Messina. Evelyn was raised in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. She would meet the love of her life Anthony Malone when she was just 16. Since they met they were inseparable. They would eventually marry and start a family of their own, living in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn. Evelyn was an active member of the St. Brendan's Catholic church, where she was in the Rosary Society. Evelyn was also a Columbiette at the Samuel Cardinal Stritch Council, also in Brooklyn. There Evelyn would volunteer her time to run multiple charity events. She would rise through the ranks of officers to become a District Deputy in the Columbiettes. Evelyn and Anthony would remain in that same Brooklyn neighborhood until 7 years ago when they moved to Freehold to be closer to family. Evelyn was a gourmet cook, who loved to entertain and cooking for family and friends. She also volunteered a lot of her time cooking at the Columbiette council for large parties and fundraisers. She was a loving and caring woman who will be missed by all those that love her. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony, who passed away last year, and also by her 10 siblings. Evelyn is survived by her loving daughters, Maria Cangialosi and her husband Sal, and Angela Ladenheim and her husband Steve, by her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Powell and her husband Gary, Matthew Cangialosi and his wife Lora Lee, Michael Ladenheim and his wife Rebecca, and Anthony Cangialosi, and by her adored great grandchildren, Shannon, Andrew, Olivia, Madelyn, Nicholas, and Mason. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
