Eugene Hadden

Eugene Hadden, 66 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born Saturday, March 24, 1956 in Plainfield, New Jersey, Eugene, affectionately known as Gene, was the son of Joan Burkhard. Gene was raised in Woodbridge, and was a graduate of Woodbridge High School. After High School Gene enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country honorably and was stationed at Parris Island, SC. After receiving his discharge Gene returned to New Jersey where he met the love of his life, Janis Iannuzzi. The couple married August 20, 1982 and settled in Old Bridge where they started a family of their own. Gene worked for Maxsam Sales Inc. as a warehouse-manager and he loved to travel. He and Janis took many trips together, his favorite destination being the Caribbean Islands. He also enjoyed attending concerts. Gene listened to all kinds of music, but his favorites were Rock and Country. Gene always put others in front of himself and cared for all he knew. He loved caring for rescue animals, making it a point at Christmas to bring blankets to the shelters. Family was at the top of Gene's list. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Gene was a caring and loving man who will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have him in their lives. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Janis, by his loving daughter, Michele Cregg and her husband Thomas, by his cherished grandchildren, Thomas James, Makayla, and Christian, by his loving mother Joan Burkhard, his caring sister Debby Morton and her husband Tom, by his aunts and uncles, by his caring sister in law Jill Ellermeyer and her husband Jeremy, by his nieces Carly and Katie, nephew Jack, and devoted dog Elsa. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle located at 1 St Thomas Plaza Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in Forest Green Cemetery, Morganville, NJ.
