Carol Steiniger

Carol Steiniger, 75 of Hudson, Florida passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey. Born Friday, August 16, 1946 in Staten Island, New York, Carol was one of five daughters born to the late Edward and Rita Hearty. Carol was raised in the Port Richmond section of Staten Island, and was a graduate of Port Richmond High School. She would further her studies, obtaining an Associates Degree from the College of Staten Island. An accident would lead to a love story of a life time. Fred Steiniger would crash his car into Carol's parents home, and the two would meet. Carol and Fred would begin a courtship which would lead to 57 years of marriage. They would start a family of their own, raising their son on Staten Island. Though they would spend time in Mississippi, Staten Island was home. Carol worked at Staten Island University Hospital in the admitting department for many years, there she formed strong friendships that would last a lifetime. The couple would remain on 'the Island' until retirement, moving to Hudson, Florida. In her spare time Carol enjoyed tending to her plants, and Crocheting. She would always be known for making the baby blankets for friends and family who were expecting. Carol was a loving, caring, and strong woman, who will be missed by all those that love her. Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Fred, by her loving son, Fred and his wife Grace, by her loving sisters, Gina Hearty, Lynn Roschbach, Mary Ellen Yost, and Naureen Russo, by her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Frueh, Sabrina Voga, Amanda Wagenblast, and Shawn Brennan, by her adored great grandchildren, Madison, Brayden,Cameron, and Siena, and by many loving nieces and nephews that she cherished. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Saint Ambrose located at 83 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
