Bruce William Wilkes

Bruce William Wilkes, 73 of Old Bridge, died peacefully Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Born in Smith Falls, Ontario he lived in Toronto before moving to Old Bridge 5 years ago. Bruce was an avid sports fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. He was a writer and poet and enjoyed painting. He wanted to be remembered as a man who meant well. Bruce is predeceased by his dearest daughter Kimberly Wilkes and is survived by his loving wife Kathy (Hickey) Wilkes; his devoted children Laurie (and Rob), Sheri and Kelly (and Sean); his dear brothers David, Jerry and Joel; his cherished grandchildren Shannon, Sean, Ryan, Michael, Siara, Jamie, Colin and Connor and his adored great-grandson Cameron. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home 3377 Hwy 9 Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A Funeral Mass will be offered 10: 30 am Monday, August 4, 2014 at St. Ambrose RC Church 81 Throckmorton Lane Old Bridge, NJ 08857. At the direction of the family, cremation will be private.
