Barbara Ressler

Barbara Ressler, 46 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, NJ. Born Wednesday, July 7, 1976 in Washington, District of Columbia, Barbara was the daughter of Judy Kolacki and the late Thomas Kolacki. Barbara was raised in Alexandria, VA. She graduated from West Potomac High School where she excelled in academics and basketball. She also participated in the marching band where she played the flute. She would go onto attend Virginia Tech University, obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. After returning home from college, Barbara would meet the love of her life, Phil Ressler. She would marry Phil and follow him to St. Louis, MO to support him while he finished his seminary studies. They move to Waynesboro, VA where Barbara would obtain a Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Virginia and begin her work as an ICU Nurse. Barbara and Phil would then move to St. Charles, IL where they would welcome their daughter, Abby, into the the world. At this time, Barbara left nursing and would become a full-time mom. They moved to Maple Park, IL to accommodate their expanding family when her twin boys, Thomas and Jacob, would be born. The last move was to Old Bridge, NJ where Phil serves as Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. As her kids became older, Barbara returned to the workforce as a teacher’s aide at Good Shepherd Children’s Center. Being a wife and a mother was her world. She loved her family so much and did whatever she had to support them. No sacrifice was too great as a devoted wife, mother, and daughter. She was actively involved in all the churches where Phil served. She often coordinated children’s ministry groups and events. She loved traveling and exploring the world with Phil. She was an avid football fan, especially of her beloved Virginia Tech Hokies. She was also a lover of pets, often coaxing and convincing her family to take on new adopted animals. Barbara’s faith was in Jesus Christ, the Resurrection and Life. She was baptized as a child of God and now rests at peace with her Lord. Barbara was a caring and loving woman who will be deeply missed by all those that were blessed to have her in their lives. Barbara was predeceased by her loving father Thomas. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Phil, by her loving children, Abby, Thomas, and Jacob, by her loving mother Judy Kolacki, and by many caring aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3139 County Road 516, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located at 3139 County Road 516 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
