Barbara Hutcheon

Barbara Hutcheon, 75 of Old Bridge, New Jersey died on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born Monday, August 31, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, Barabara was one of twelve children born to the late Edward and Florence Ritter. Barbara was raised in the Bronx, NY and that is where she would meet the love of her life William R. Hutcheon. The two would marry and start their family there before moving to New Jersey in 1962. The family would eventually settle in Old Bridge, and remain an active part of the community. Barbara worked for the Old Bridge Township School system, spending more than 25 years working as a Crossing Guard at multiple schools throughout Old Bridge Township. In her spare time Barbara enjoyed playing Bingo and Poker games with friends. She loved being surrounded by her family and will be missed terribly by all those who loved her. Barbara was predeased by her daughter Kelly Ann Rost, who passed away in 2003. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years William R. Hutcheon Sr., by her loving children, Tracy Ann McDermott, Kimberly Ann Chiappetta and her husband Michael, and William R. Hutcheon Jr., by her cherished grandchildren Nicole Sommer and her husband Jeff, Richard Roessner, Keith Rost, Sara Rost, Kayla Rost, Michael Chiappetta, Rebecca Chiappetta, Steven Chiappetta, John McDermott, Paul McDermott, Jordyn Hutcheon, and Reilly Hutcheon, by her four adoring great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nicolas, Christopher, and Caitlin, and by her caring siblings, Kenny Ritter, Billy Ritter, Tommy Ritter, Warren Ritter, Florence Ritter, and Johanna Ritter. A Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
