Anna Covell-Meyer

Anna Covell-Meyer, 72 of Little River, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. Born Saturday, January 28, 1950 in Staten Island, New York, Anna was the daughter of the late James and Vincenza Marone. Anna was raised in the Stapleton neighborhood of Staten Island. After high school Anna would start a family. She worked for a number of years as a beautician before enrolling at the College of Staten Island to study Nursing. Anna would begin a long career in Nursing, working at the Staten Island University Hospital South Site, in the Drug Rehabilitation program. Forty three years ago Anna would meet Robert Meyer and the couple would marry. They resided on Staten Island before moving to South Amboy, NJ. Anna would become a member of St. Mary's Church while she lived there. Anna and Bob would enjoy their many trips to their summer home in the Pocono Mountains. Three years ago they would settle in Little River, South Carolina. In her spare time Anna would enjoy tending to her garden, and crafting. She enjoyed making holiday wreaths, and loved decorating her Christmas tree around the holidays. She was a loving and caring woman who will be missed by all those that love her. Anna is survived by her husband Robert, by her daughter Denise Schafer and her husband William, by her step children, Wendy Vaphides and her husband Charles, Robert Meyer and his wife Mary, and Michelle Meyer, by her sister Mary Ommert and brother in law Richard Ommert, and by her grandchildren, William (Lisa), Deanna, Kristen (Jeremy), Amanda (Louis), Jonathan (Ayesha), Michael (Domenique), and Gianna, and by her nieces Carol Renee and Elizabeth Ommert. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral service will be at 9:30 AM on Monday at St. Mary's Church located at 256 Augusta Street South Amboy, New Jersey 08879. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy, NJ.
