Angel Velez

Angel 'Gelito' Velez, beloved son, husband, father, and friend, passed away on October 7, 2023, at his home in Wesley Chapel, Florida, surrounded by loved ones. He was 78 years old. Born on April 30, 1945, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, Angel ventured to Newark, New Jersey, seeking a better way of life 60 years ago. He dedicated many years of his life to the Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2003. Throughout his life, he touched the lives of many with his kindness and boundless generosity. Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Conception and Braulia (Ruiz), as well as his siblings Adelaida 'Nengui,' Ramona 'Ramonita', Luz Maria, and Gilberto Velez. Angel is survived by his loving spouse, Milena Velez, with whom he shared 42 years of joy and companionship. He is also survived by his sons Angel Jr. 'Andy,' Greighton, Richard, and his beloved daughter, Natalie, along with her husband, Nestali De Leon. Angel was a dear sibling to Camelia, Justina, Esther, Carmen 'Carmita,' Olga, and Benjamin 'Papo' Velez. Angel's devotion to his family was evident in every moment spent together. He was also a cherished grandfather to his beloved grandchildren Elizer, Sophia, and Victoria, who meant the world to him. Known for his warm heart and infectious laughter, Angel had a special talent for making everyone around him feel cherished. His passion for dancing was a source of joy for those fortunate enough to join him on the dance floor. Angel 'Gelito' Velez will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
